AKINLOYE PERFORMS GROUND-BREAKING CEREMONY FOR CONSTRUCTION OF A BLOCK OF SIX CLASSROOMS AT UPE PRIMARY SCHOOL, AJEGBENDE EREDO LCDA


As a way of complementing the THEME AGENDA of His Excellency Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu and his Deputy, Dr Kadri Obafemi Hamzat, the Executive Chairman of Eredo LCDA, Hon. Ismail Monsuru Akinloye performed the ground breaking ceremony of a block of 6 classrooms buildings at UPE primary school, Ajegbende

This intervention by Akinloye led administration is meant to ease the burden of overpopulation of students in classrooms in the school after the visitation and assessed the needs of the school earlier in the year. It is our desire to create a befitting environment for all students in Eredo LCDA because they are the leaders of tomorrow and the bright future must be secured for them

The Chairman seized the opportunity of the gathering to appreciate the good people of Eredo LCDA for their continuous support for his administration. He also he urged the people of Eredo LCDA to pay their taxes and dues to generate revenue for Eredo LCDA so that more dividends of democracy would be provided for the people

Lagos State Government to Ban Danfo and Korope Buses on October 1.

By Sultan Oluwaseunayofunmi , The Lagos State Government has said there’s no going back on the planned enforcement banning operations of all unregulated commercial bus operations, such as  Danfos and Koropes, along the Lekki-Epe corridor, from October 1, 2024. The special adviser to Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu on transportation, Sola Giwa, disclosed this in a chat with Vanguard on Saturday, July 14.  He said that the reminder on the planned ban, which is in line with the Lagos State Strategic Transportation Master Plan (STMP), was to dismiss rumours that the move had been suspended. Giwa stated that a stakeholders’ meeting was held with bus operators and union leaders on their need to comply before October 1 to successfully regulate and integrate the informal transport sector into the State’s Bus Reform Initiative using the corridor as a pilot test. The controversy centers around two toll gates situated on the same road—allegedly managed separately by the Lagos and Ogun State governments. The presence of both tolls, locals argue, amounts to double taxation and places an unnecessary financial burden on daily commuters. Currently, road users report paying between ₦1,000 and ₦2,000 per trip, depending on the size and type of vehicle.
