HOMAGE AND RESPECTFUL AUDIENCE WITH A DISTINGUISHED MONARCH BY THE DONS OF THE LAGOS STATE UNIVERSITY OF SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY (LASUSTECH), IKORODU

It was a remarkable Wednesday in Epe Division as LASUSTECH Delegation Pays Grateful Visit to His Royal Majesty Oba (Dr) Rotarian Olufolarin Olukayode OGUNSANWO (JP), TELADE IV, The Alara of Ilara Kingdom, Epe Division, Lagos State. 

Subheading: University Officials Express Profound Appreciation for Community Support

LASUSTECH - In a show of deep gratitude and commitment to fostering strong community ties, a high-level delegation from the Lagos State University of Science and Technology (LASUSTECH), Ikorodu, embarked on a thank-you visit to the Palace of His Royal Majesty, Oba (Dr) Rotarian Olufolarin Olukayode OGUNSANWO (JP), TELADE IV, The Alara of Ilara Kingdom, Epe Division, Lagos State.

The Delegation, led by the Vice-Chancellor "Professor OLUMUYIWA Odusanya", included key University officials, such as the Deputy Vice-Chancellor Admin "Professor Basirat Oladipupo" who happened to be the First & Only Female Professor in Epe Division, The Registrar, Public Relations Officer, The Former Registrar of the Institution, The Chief Security Officer of the University, and other Administrative staff members. The visit aimed to express the University's profound appreciation for the unwavering support and collaboration received from the Alara of Ilara Kingdom.

The day commenced with a traditional and cultural prayers, and the exchange of pleasantries. This ceremonial welcome set a warm and harmonious tone for the visit.

During the visit, Professor OLUMUYIWA Odusanya, on behalf of LASUSTECH, conveyed heartfelt appreciation to His Royal Majesty, Oba (Dr) Rotarian Olufolarin Olukayode OGUNSANWO (JP), and the Ilara Kingdom for their continuous support in various University initiatives and Community development projects. He emphasized the pivotal role the Kingdom has played in fostering a strong Town-gown relationship.

As a token of gratitude, the delegation presented gifts to His Royal Majesty and His Council members, symbolizing the University's commitment to strengthening this essential partnership.

In return, His Royal Majesty Oba (Dr) Rotarian Olufolarin Olukayode OGUNSANWO (JP), the Alara of Ilara Kingdom also presented gifts to the LASUSTECH Management Team. 


Discussions centered on potential areas of future collaboration, including educational programs, Agriculture, Community development Projects, and Cultural exchanges. These discussions reflect the University's commitment to mutual growth and development.

A highlight of the visit was a cultural exchange where LASUSTECH provides information on aspects of its vibrant institutional culture. In return, the Alara of Ilara Kingdom shared few of their rich Cultural heritage, further enhancing the Cultural understanding and collaboration between the University and the Community.

His Royal Majesty graciously led a discussion into the Brief history of the Ancient Palace, providing insight into the historical and cultural significance of the Ilara Kingdom.

In conclusion, the thank-you visit to the Palace of His Royal Majesty, Oba (Dr) Rotarian Olufolarin Olukayode OGUNSANWO (JP), TELADE IV, was a significant step toward building a stronger partnership between LASUSTECH and the Ilara Kingdom. It not only demonstrated gratitude for past support but also laid the foundation for a future of mutually beneficial collaboration.

The University and the Community are poised to embark on joint initiatives that will benefit both parties, enhancing Education, Culture, Agriculture, and Community development.
