Hon. (Engr.) Abdullahi Sesan Olowa Bags Best Performing Local Government Chairman Award

Executive Chairman of ibeju lekki local Government Area of lagos state, Hon. (Engr.) Abdullahi Sesan Olowa on Saturday bagged an award for his emergence as one of the best performing local government chairman in Nigeria by the prestigious EPE CLUB of Lagos State at the occasion of it’s year 2024 Annual General Meeting.
Speaking with our correspondent, the Chairman said, "the award is a privilege because the joy of any man is the opportunity to serve his people and that joy becomes fuller and greater when the little tries to do is being appreciated by the people and rated among the best in the country".

The occasion which also included the Induction Of New Members And Public Lecture On Agriculture And Food Security In Nigeria with focus On Epe Division also seized the occasion in rewarding the excellent initiatives and performances of the Ibeju-Lekki Local Government Executive Chairman,for standing out amongst his counterparts through the introduction of laudable initiatives that is reshaping grassroot Governance.
According to him, the award will only spur them the opportunity to put in much more of his best to ensure that they deliver on the mandate of their people and the mission that God has called him on to service of God and humanity.

"I dedicate this award to God Almighty, to the People of Ibeju-Lekki who believe in my government, the Governor of Lagos state, His Excellency Governor Olushola Babajide Sanwolu and I believe in the fact that it pays to serve and there is always a reward for good service,” he said.

He said, ”many people don’t believe in Local Government Administration because they think it’s an avenue to syphone money but thank God we are able to make a difference.
We have changed the narratives that you can still excel at the Local Government level to come up with visible achievements that touches the life of the people".

The President of the Epe Club, Hon. Adebola Shabi who presented the Award applauded and urged the Council Mayor to continue dishing out the dividend of democracy to his people through emulative developmental reforms.
In his response, Mayor Olowa commended the Board of Epe Club for counting him worthy of the honour while he promised Ibeju-Lekki Local Government will leave no stone unturned for the socio-economic growth of the Council Area.
