Celebrating Excellence: The Community Leadership and Impact Award

The Concerned Nation Builders Initiative (CNI) has proudly added a significant milestone to its ongoing mission of honoring outstanding achievements within the community. 


Recently, at a heartfelt ceremony held at his residence in Epe, former Lagos State Governor Mr. Akinwunmi Ambode received the esteemed Community Leadership and Impact Award, part of the Epe Division Community Annual Awards (EDCAA).

This prestigious accolade was presented by CNI’s Founder and Director-General, Mr. Idris Tele Olukoya, in recognition of Mr. Ambode’s outstanding contributions to the development of both Epe Division and Lagos State. 

Mr. Ambode’s visionary leadership has led to remarkable advancements in infrastructure, sustainable development, and the quality of life for residents. His initiatives have transformed Epe Division into a symbol of pride within Lagos. 

In his remarks during the presentation, Mr. Olukoya praised Mr. Ambode for his exceptional service, stating, “This award is a testament to your unwavering commitment to community upliftment and excellence. Your legacy inspires us all.” 

This recognition reinforces Mr. Ambode’s lasting impact, serving as a beacon of hope and progress for Epe Division and beyond. His contributions are sure to resonate for years to come, inspiring future leaders to continue striving for excellence within their communities.

Lagos State Government to Ban Danfo and Korope Buses on October 1.

By Sultan Oluwaseunayofunmi , The Lagos State Government has said there’s no going back on the planned enforcement banning operations of all unregulated commercial bus operations, such as  Danfos and Koropes, along the Lekki-Epe corridor, from October 1, 2024. The special adviser to Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu on transportation, Sola Giwa, disclosed this in a chat with Vanguard on Saturday, July 14.  He said that the reminder on the planned ban, which is in line with the Lagos State Strategic Transportation Master Plan (STMP), was to dismiss rumours that the move had been suspended. By Sultan Tensions are rising in Lagos State’s Epe Division as residents and stakeholders voice growing frustration over what they describe as unfair toll practices on the recently renovated Epe/Ijebu-Ode Expressway. The controversy centers around two toll gates situated on the same road—allegedly managed separately by the Lagos and Ogun State governments. The presence of both tolls, locals argue, amounts to double taxation and places an unnecessary financial burden on daily commuters. Currently, road users report paying between ₦1,000 and ₦2,000 per trip, depending on the size and type of vehicle.
