Ilara Kingdom Set to Celebrate Five Years of Transformational Royalty Under Oba Ogunsanwo

The serene and historic town of Ilara, nestled in the heart of Epe Division, Lagos State, is aglow with anticipation as it prepares to mark a monumental milestone — the 5th Coronation Anniversary of His Royal Majesty, Oba (Dr.) Olufolarin Olukayode Ogunsanwo (Telade IV), the revered Alara of Ilara Kingdom.

Since ascending the throne in 2020, Oba Ogunsanwo has redefined kingship with a legacy of peace, progress, and prosperity. His reign has not only deepened cultural pride but also ushered in remarkable developments across Ilara and beyond. As the kingdom counts down to this symbolic celebration, the entire community is wrapped in jubilation and royal fervour.

Three Days of Grandeur: Anniversary Program Highlights

In a press release issued by the Organising Committee for the Fifth Coronation Anniversary, a three-day programme of events has been unveiled, scheduled to run from Friday, August 15 to Sunday, August 17, 2025.

Day 1: Empowerment and Spiritual Grace – Friday, August 15

The festivities begin with an empowerment programme and free medical outreach, offering vital support to residents of Ilara Kingdom — a clear testament to Kabiyesi’s commitment to community welfare. Later that afternoon, a special Jumat service will be held in honour of the Alara’s five illustrious years on the throne.

Day 2: Coronation Ceremony and Chieftaincy Conferment – Saturday, August 16

The main coronation anniversary ceremony will hold at the royal palace in Ilara. A key highlight of this grand occasion will be the conferment of honorary chieftaincy titles on seven distinguished individuals and couples, recognized for their unwavering contributions to the growth and development of the kingdom.

Surv. Jelili Kolawole Olayemi – Olotu of Ilara Kingdom

Prof. Kemi Pinhero – Baamofin of Ilara Kingdom

Day 3: Thanksgiving and Royal Banquet – Sunday, August 17

The celebrations will conclude with a thanksgiving service at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Ilara-Epe. This will be followed by a royal banquet, bringing together dignitaries, guests, and the good people of Ilara to celebrate the enduring legacy of a monarch admired for his wisdom and humility.

Oba (Dr.) Olufolarin Ogunsanwo is no ordinary king. A seasoned finance and taxation expert, he served with distinction in the Lagos State Public Service and rose to become the Chairman of the Lagos State Internal Revenue Service (LIRS). Since donning the royal crown in 2020, he has seamlessly blended his professional expertise with traditional leadership, elevating the fortunes of Ilara Kingdom.

Through progressive leadership, strategic partnerships, and a genuine love for his people, the Alara of Ilara has become a symbol of excellence, unity, and visionary royalty.

By Sultan Teslim  The Muslim communities of Okemagba came alive on Thursday, September 4, 2025 (12th Rabiul-Awwal 1447AH), as thousands of faithful converged in a colorful mega rally to mark the birth of Prophet Muhammad (Mawlid an-Nabī). The event was spearheaded by Monba-un-Ridoh International, under the leadership of its founder and Chief Missioner, Al-Khalifa Sheikh AbdulGaniy Dan Musa Alayaki, in collaboration with DAZWAT, led by Sheikh Abdulsalam Shafihi Zambo, and JAZWAB, led by Sheikh Ahmod Abdulhammed Ajagbemokeferi. By Sultan Teslim  Epe, Lagos Olukoya, Adekoya Emerge as Youth Leaders Amid Disagreements The youths of Ibonwon community in Eredo Local Council Development Area of Epe, Lagos State, have elected Mr. Kazeem Olukoya Owolodun, popularly known as 1Litre, as their new Youth Leader. Mr. Kazeem Adekoya was also elected as Deputy Youth Leader. The election, held at the weekend, drew a large turnout of youths and stakeholders, including former youth leaders Comrade Wakilu Mayor and Comrade Jimoh (Jomo).
