The youths of Ibonwon community in Eredo Local Council Development Area of Epe, Lagos State, have elected Mr. Kazeem Olukoya Owolodun, popularly known as 1Litre, as their new Youth Leader. Mr. Kazeem Adekoya was also elected as Deputy Youth Leader.

The election, held at the weekend, drew a large turnout of youths and stakeholders, including former youth leaders Comrade Wakilu Mayor and Comrade Jimoh (Jomo). The Youth Leader of Ilara community, Comrade Muideen Kazeem Sunday (SP), alongside his Secretary, Mr. Afuye Tosin (TM Concept), also graced the event.

The process was, however, not without contention, as the absence of the outgoing Youth Leader, Comrade Ismail Wahab, and his executives sparked initial disagreements. The youths later resolved to proceed with the announcement of new leaders

Olukoya and Adekoya were subsequently introduced to the Ogegbo of Ibonwon and members of his council for formal recognition

In his acceptance speech, Olukoya expressed gratitude to the youths for their trust and pledged to prioritize community growth, unity, and the empowerment of young people.

> “The development and well-being of Ibonwon are my priorities. I will also work to promote peace and unity among the youths,” he said.

Community members have described the development as a new dawn for Ibonwon youths, with expectations that the new leadership will foster greater inclusion in decision-making and community advancement.
