In a remarkable display of community solidarity and youth-driven advocacy, Alhaji Sikiru Musa has emerged as the Ambassador of the Year (Male) at the 2025 edition of the Epe Division Community Annual Awards (EDCAA). His victory, announced after a rigorous three-week voting exercise, has been widely celebrated across Ibonwon, Okemagba, Eredo, and the entire Epe Division.

The announcement was received with jubilation as residents commended Musa’s long-standing contributions to community development, youth empowerment, and social progress.

Youth Mobilization Played Key Role

This year’s contest saw unprecedented involvement from community youth, who rallied strongly behind Musa’s candidacy. From coordinated online campaigns to door-to-door sensitization, the youth ensured that voting remained consistent throughout the three-week process.

According to community members, the unity displayed by young people was instrumental to the final outcome, marking this year’s voting as one of the most passionately contested in recent history.

Olukoya Kazeem, the Ibonwon community youth leader, described Musa’s victory as both deserved and inspiring.

“Alhaji Sikiru Musa has been a great mentor who constantly supports activities that promote Ibonwon community, especially those involving the youth. Bagging Ambassador of the Year is not a surprise to me, but truly well-earned.”

A Reputation Built on Service

Musa’s recognition did not come overnight. Over the years, he has earned admiration for his contributions to education, cultural development, charity projects, and youth-oriented initiatives. Community members say his influence extends beyond Ibonwon to Okemagba, Eredo, and various parts of Epe.

Badiru Aishat, one of the youth who actively participated in the voting campaign, expressed her joy at the result.

“I was very happy when he was announced as Ambassador of the Year because he really deserves it. He has been up and doing for our community, Okemagba, Eredo, and Epe at large.”

Community Voices Echo Support

Reactions following the announcement have been overwhelmingly supportive, with residents praising Musa for his consistency and impact.

Ibonwon resident Alhaji Suraju Ibrahim described him as a transformational figure.

“He is a blessing to us in our street, our community, and Epe at large. He has been representing us well. He truly deserves this honor.”

These sentiments mirror a widespread belief that Musa’s influence and goodwill have significantly uplifted the community over the years.

A Symbol of Unity and Progress

Musa’s emergence as Ambassador of the Year has been described as a victory not just for him but for the entire community. Observers say his win reflects the strength of collective action and underscores the growing role of youth in community leadership and decision-making.

The EDCAA Awards Committee noted that the 2025 edition recorded one of the highest levels of public participation, attributing the success to community engagement and transparency throughout the process.

As celebrations continue, community members express hope that this recognition will further encourage developmental initiatives and strengthen youth participation in civic activities.
