Chairman’s Cup 2025 Kicks Off in Eredo With Big Wins for Egiri United and Ilara FC

The 2025 edition of the Eredo LCDA Chairman’s Cup kicked off in grand style as football fans witnessed an action-packed opening day filled with excitement, community spirit, and outstanding performances from participating teams.

The tournament officially opened at St. Patrick Grammar School, Eredo, where supporters trooped in to cheer their favorite teams and celebrate the return of one of the LCDA’s most cherished grassroots sporting events.

Opening Match: Egiri United 4 – 0 Igbonla FC

The first match of the day saw Egiri United deliver a commanding performance against Igbonla FC, securing a convincing 4–0 victory. Egiri United dominated possession and showcased superior teamwork, setting an early benchmark for the tournament.

Second Match: Ilara FC 3 – 1 Omola FC

In the second encounter, Ilara FC came from behind to claim a 3–1 win over Omola FC. The match was lively and competitive, with both sides displaying determination, but Ilara FC’s sharp attacking play eventually earned them all three points.
