The Management of has paid a formal courtesy visit to the Palace of its newly appointed 6th Substantive Chancellor, , Telade IV, the Alara of Ilara Kingdom, in a ceremony that blended institutional honour with rich cultural heritage.
The delegation, led by the Vice-Chancellor and senior management officials of the University, visited the revered monarch shortly after the official confirmation of his appointment by the Governor of Lagos State, . The appointment has been widely celebrated as historic, marking the first time a traditional ruler has been elevated to the Chancellorship of the University, thereby reinforcing collaboration between academia and traditional leadership.

The courtesy visit, held on Thursday, 19 February 2026, attracted an impressive gathering of dignitaries and traditional leaders at the Palace in Ilara Kingdom. Royal Fathers from Eredo LCDA, members of the Alara-in-Council, distinguished Chiefs, and the Baale-Alara-in-Council assembled in solidarity to celebrate the monarch’s elevation.
