The Eredo Local Council Development Area (LCDA) has reaffirmed its commitment to environmental cleanliness, public order, and strict enforcement of government regulations following the arrest of 78 traffic offenders during the monthly Environmental Sanitation Exercise.

Despite repeated public announcements, awareness campaigns, and the Lagos State Government's restriction on vehicular and human movement between 6:30 a.m. and 8:30 a.m. on sanitation days, several road users were found violating the directive.

In a coordinated enforcement operation carried out across different parts of the council area, the Eredo LCDA Environmental Enforcement Team apprehended a total of 78 offenders, comprising 55 tricycles (Keke Marwa), 16 motorcycles (Okada), and 7 vehicles that breached the movement restriction order.

The operation forms part of the council's ongoing efforts to promote environmental discipline, ensure public compliance with sanitation regulations, and support the Lagos State Government's vision of creating a cleaner, healthier, and more sustainable environment.

Speaking on the exercise, the Executive Chairman of Eredo LCDA, Hon. Ismail Monsuru Akinloye, reiterated the administration's unwavering commitment to enforcing environmental laws and maintaining order across the council area. He emphasized that environmental sanitation remains a shared civic responsibility and urged residents, transport operators, and motorists to cooperate fully with government directives.
The council also warned that enforcement efforts would continue during future sanitation exercises, stressing that anyone found violating the movement restriction order would be prosecuted in accordance with the law.

Residents are therefore encouraged to observe all environmental sanitation guidelines and actively contribute to keeping Eredo clean, safe, and healthy for the benefit of present and future generations.

Environmental sanitation is everyone's responsibility, and collective compliance remains essential to building a cleaner and more livable Eredo LCDA.
