Prince Oladipupo Kassim celebrated his 70th birthday in a memorable gathering filled with love, gratitude, and heartfelt tributes as family members, friends, colleagues, associates, and numerous community organizations came together to honour his remarkable life and enduring legacy.

The colourful celebration attracted prominent personalities from Epe and beyond, reflecting the respect and admiration Prince Kassim has earned through decades of service, humility, and peaceful coexistence.

A solemn beginning in loving remembrance

The event commenced with an opening prayer, followed by a minute of silence in honour of Olori Funmilola Kassim, the beloved late wife of Prince Oladipupo Kassim, who passed away one year ago. Guests joined the family in remembering her unwavering love, support, and invaluable role in Prince Kassim's life.

Among the distinguished guests were Hon. Princess Bola Kassim; Hon. Tunde Seriki (Bamofin of Epe Land); Mrs. Alade Raji, (President Epe Grammar School Alumni), Chief Olayeni Dada, (President of Epe Club) Hon. Celebrating a life of impact

During the celebration, Prince Adeleke Kassim delivered a moving account of Prince Oladipupo Kassim's life journey, highlighting his integrity, compassion, and the valuable lessons he had personally learned from his exemplary lifestyle.

In her heartfelt tribute, Hon. Princess Bola Kassim explained that the family had chosen to celebrate the milestone modestly out of respect for their late sister-in-law.

“The celebration could have been much bigger, but we must honour the memory of our late wife, who was loving and supportive. However, a 70th birthday comes only once in a lifetime, and it deserves to be celebrated.”

She further described her brother as a man whose kindness transcends age, tribe, religion, and community, emphasizing that his cheerful nature, generosity, and commitment to peace have made him beloved by countless people.

“Jo Ma Binu” — A philosophy of peace

One phrase repeatedly echoed throughout the event was Prince Kassim's well-known expression: “Jo Ma Binu,” a Yoruba phrase meaning “Please, don't be offended.”

Guests described the saying as more than a slogan—it is a reflection of his lifelong philosophy of forgiveness, understanding, reconciliation, and peaceful living. Many testified that Prince Kassim has consistently resolved conflicts with wisdom and encouraged unity wherever he serves.

A caring landlord and compassionate leader

One of his tenants paid glowing tribute to the celebrant, describing him as a caring and loving landlord who always prioritizes the comfort and wellbeing of his tenants. The testimony reinforced the many stories shared during the celebration about his generosity, approachable character, and genuine concern for others.

Gifts, joy and lasting memories

The celebration concluded with the presentation of gifts and goodwill messages from family members, children, friends, colleagues, and numerous well-wishers. The atmosphere was filled with music, laughter, appreciation, and prayers for continued good health, long life, and greater accomplishments.

Prince Oladipupo Kassim's 70th birthday was not merely the celebration of an age, but a fitting tribute to a man whose life continues to inspire peace, love, unity, and selfless service across generations.
