2027 ELECTIONS: EPE ADC SECRETARY URGES PVC COLLECTION, CALLS FOR SUPPORT FOR PARTY’S CANDIDATES AT ALL LEVELS
By Ojo Mary Damilolai
EPE, LAGOS STATE — The General Secretary of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Epe Local Government, Hon. Teslim Azeez, popularly known as Sultan, has urged eligible residents to collect their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) and prepare for active participation in the 2027 general elections.
Hon. Teslim, a member and ambassador of the Atiku Grassroots Information Project (AGIP), made the appeal following personal visits to PVC collection centres in Ilara and Ibonwon, Epe, over the weekend.
He emphasised the importance of voter participation and encouraged ADC members and supporters to remain committed to the party's democratic activities, engage with residents peacefully and familiarise themselves with its candidates across the various elective positions.
PVC Collection: A Step Towards Electoral Participation
The ADC chieftain urged eligible residents who are yet to collect their PVCs to verify their registration status and follow the official procedures provided by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
He also advised those who already possess their cards to keep them safe and be prepared to exercise their voting rights when the elections take place.
According to him, responsible electoral participation begins with adequate preparation, access to reliable information and a clear understanding of the issues that affect communities.
He cautioned residents against selling, trading or surrendering their PVCs to unauthorised persons, stressing the importance of protecting their electoral rights and complying with electoral laws.
2027: ADC Leaders, Members Urged to Mobilise Support for All Candidates
Looking ahead to the 2027 elections, Hon. Teslim called on ADC members, supporters and sympathisers to strengthen grassroots engagement and familiarise themselves with the party's candidates for the various elective positions.
He also urged party faithful to maintain unity, discipline and constructive communication while participating in the political process, stressing that grassroots mobilisation should be accompanied by issue-based discussions and respect for voters' independent choices.
He encouraged voters to pay attention to issues affecting Epe Division and Lagos State, including road infrastructure, electricity, education, healthcare, employment and youth development.
He noted that meaningful democratic participation involves more than collecting a PVC; it also requires understanding the choices available, examining candidates' positions and making informed decisions at the polls.
The ADC General Secretary encouraged party members to promote peaceful campaigns, discourage electoral misconduct and respect the rights of citizens who hold different political views.
Appeal to Residents Across Epe Division
The appeal extends to eligible voters across Epe Division, urging them to verify their electoral information through official INEC channels.
Community leaders, youth organisations and other stakeholders were also encouraged to promote voter education and direct residents to reliable information concerning registration, PVC collection and electoral procedures.
Conclusion: Prepare, Participate and Make Your Vote Count
As preparations for the 2027 general elections continue, Hon. Teslim's message centres on voter readiness, civic responsibility and sustained political engagement.
He urged ADC members and supporters to remain actively involved in grassroots activities, understand the party's candidates across the relevant elective positions and communicate their political aspirations through lawful and peaceful means.
The broader call is for eligible residents to collect their PVCs, stay informed and participate responsibly in the electoral process. For ADC members and supporters, this also means engaging constructively with the electorate and becoming familiar with the party's candidates for the presidency, governorship, Senate, House of Representatives and State House of Assembly.
Ultimately, the credibility of democratic participation depends on an informed electorate, respect for electoral laws and the willingness of eligible citizens to exercise their voting rights.
