The goddess of wealth (Orisa Aje) was once again appeased to bring forth good fortunes and prosperities in Epe division, Lagos state and the nation as a whole

This was the hallmark of the traditional rites performed in Ilara Kingdom by HRM Oba Olukayode Olufolarin Ogunsanwo, Telade IV, the Alara of Ilara Kingdom on Monday, 15th August, 2022 while marking his 2nd year on the throne of his forefathers

It would be recalled that HRM Oba Ogunwusi Eniitan, the Ooni of Ife and other traditional rulers in Yoruba land stormed the ancient city of Ilara to introduce the festival to among others things, invoke the goddess to extend her hands of goodness to the kingdom and the state in the area of economic development

This year’s festival was imperative owing to the needs of the people and importance attached to the wellbeing of the nation

In his response to series of questions fielded by the newsmen, the monarch explained the current economic situation of the nation as nothing to write home about

He said that; "Everyone wants to live a good life. Without money, this could be very difficult. Economic growth is also tantamount to national development. Poverty must be fought against at all times. When we have good economic, insecurity, social vices, unemployment etc will varnish”

He attributed his achievements to God’s faithfulness in his doings.

“To God be all the glory. We thank Him for everything”, he said

He asked the people and well-wishers to continue supporting him and he won’t let them down as well

He however called on the government to see Epe as the next phase of development in Lagos state. He used the opportunity to thank the performing governor, Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu and his team for the jobs well done so far in the state

He enjoined the teeming youth body to continue seeing themselves as the leaders of tomorrow. They should have a sense of belonging in all government activities for a better rewarding experience.
