Eredo LCDA Bolsters Education Access with Donation of School Minibuses

By Oluwaseunayofunmi

In a landmark move aimed at reinforcing the educational framework of Eredo Local Council Development Area (LCDA), the Executive Chairman, Hon. Ismail Monsuru Akinloye, has once again demonstrated his administration's deep-rooted commitment to education and youth empowerment. As part of ongoing efforts to eliminate barriers to learning, two brand-new minibuses have been donated to support student transportation across the council area.

The official handover ceremony, held earlier yesterday April 24th 2025, was carried out by the Vice Chairman, Hon. Lateef Adesanya, who represented the Chairman in a symbolic and heartfelt event. Hon. Adesanya praised the initiative as a “transformative step” towards addressing long-standing transportation challenges that have hindered school attendance in certain communities.

The first of the two minibuses was presented to Prince Adekunle Taiwo, Coordinator of Agric YES, Araga. This particular community has faced serious hurdles in student mobility due to the limited availability of commercial transportation. The newly provided school bus is expected to significantly ease these challenges, offering students a safer, more reliable, and timely mode of transport to and from school. This, in turn, is anticipated to positively impact student attendance, punctuality, and academic performance.
The second minibus was handed over to High Chief Adeoye Balogun, the Ikeji Ilu of Ilara Kingdom, for the benefit of the newly established Ilara Model Primary School. Located in a developing area with limited infrastructure, the school has struggled with low early morning attendance due to transportation issues. The addition of this dedicated school vehicle is a timely intervention that promises to change that narrative. It will help ensure that pupils arrive on time, energized, and ready to learn—creating a stronger academic culture and a better future for the community’s youngest learners.

This thoughtful investment is more than a gesture—it’s a strategic intervention that reflects the vision of Hon. Ismail Monsuru Akinloye’s leadership. His administration continues to prioritize educational access and community development through tangible, impactful projects. From infrastructure development to human capital investments, Eredo LCDA is charting a course for sustainable progress.

"Education is not merely a target—it is a covenant with the next generation," said Hon. Akinloye. "And we must all play our part in fulfilliB ng that promise."

With initiatives like this, Eredo LCDA is not just talking about change—it is driving it, one student and one community at a time.
