Building Bridges for Progress: Hon. Olowa Meets with CNI Nigeria for Strategic Partnership in Ibeju-Lekki

By Lawal Afeez

Today marked a powerful moment in grassroots governance as the Executive Chairman of Ibeju-Lekki Local Government, Hon. Abdullahi Sesan Olowa, played host to the Executive Members of Concerned NationBuilders Initiative (CNI) Nigeria during a meaningful courtesy visit at the Council Secretariat.

The atmosphere was one of mutual respect and shared vision. CNI Nigeria, led by its Director General Chief Idris S. Tele-Olukoya, commended Hon. Olowa for his exemplary leadership and developmental strides across communities in Ibeju-Lekki. The Director General did not hold back praise, noting the positive impact of the Chairman's initiatives and expressing admiration for his commitment to the people.

But the visit wasn't just about accolades — it was about action.

Chief Idris used the occasion to propose a strategic partnership between CNI Nigeria and the local government, aiming to amplify progress and development across the region. He emphasized that by working together, both parties could create scalable projects that directly benefit residents.

In his response, Hon. Olowa not only thanked CNI Nigeria for their visit and commendation but also highlighted the group’s efforts in community development, particularly their engagement around the Ijebu-Ode – Epe toll gate area. The Chairman expressed his desire for more NGOs to emulate CNI’s proactive approach, and invited the organization to submit additional proposals that could lead to joint development projects.

One of the highlights of the visit was the presentation of a gift item to Hon. Olowa by the CNI team — a gesture that symbolized mutual respect and the beginning of what promises to be a fruitful collaboration.

This engagement serves as a reminder that public-private partnerships, especially those rooted in community service and advocacy, are essential to building a better future at the grassroots level.

As the Ibeju-Lekki Local Government looks ahead, all eyes will be on how this emerging partnership unfolds — and how it might inspire other local governments to follow suit.
