Igbooye Takes a Historic Leap in Healthcare as New Primary Health Centre Breaks Ground

Eredo LCDA Flags Off Landmark Health Project During Orijeru’s Coronation Anniversary Celebrations
Igbooye community witnessed a historic moment on **Monday, December 22, 2025**, as the **ground-breaking ceremony for the Igbooye Primary Health Centre** was officially performed, marking a major stride toward improved healthcare delivery in the area.
The ceremony was carried out by the Chairman of Eredo Local Council Development Area (LCDA), Hon. Monsur Ismail Akinloye, who was ably represented by the Vice Chairman, Hon. Lateef Adesanya. The event formed part of the activities commemorating the one-year Coronation Anniversary of His Royal Majesty, OBA (TPL) Abdulrasaq Akanni Musa, the Orijeru of Igbooye Kingdom.
Speaking at the event, the Council Chairman expressed deep appreciation for the initiative and the generous provision of land by the Orijeru of Igbooye and the entire Igbooye community. He described the project as a people-centered intervention aimed at improving access to quality healthcare services. Hon. Akinloye reaffirmed the commitment of the Eredo LCDA administration to ensuring that the Primary Health Centre serves not only Igbooye residents but humanity at large.
Representing His Royal Majesty at the ceremony, the Olisa of Igbooye Kingdom, Chief (Engr.) Abdulbariu Olugbenga Quadri, commended the Chairman, the Vice Chairman, and their team for deeming Igbooye worthy of such a critical development project. He emphasized that the community is fully aligned with the vision of the project and expressed strong optimism that the commissioning of the Primary Health Centre would take place in the nearest future.
The event attracted several prominent traditional leaders, community stakeholders, and residents. Dignitaries present included Chief Morufu Oludare Salami, the Egbo of Igbooye Kingdom; Chief Rasaki Sanni, the Otun of Igbooye; Chief Oluranti Adebanjo, the Eleku of Igbooye; Chief Christopher Oluwole Ariyo, Bale of Erimope; as well as Mr. Samuel Orekoya, Mr. Adewale Ipaye, Mr. Sulaimon Azeez, and Mr. Idris Adebanjo Salami, who anchored the programme. Youth representatives and other community members were also in attendance.
The ground-breaking ceremony not only symbolizes the beginning of a vital health infrastructure project but also reflects the growing collaboration between traditional institutions, community leadership, and local government in advancing sustainable development in Igbooye Kingdom.
