By Oduola Olalekan The attention of management of LASUTH has been drawn to some newspaper reports about a 12-year-old patient who was referred to our hospital from Obitoks Medical Centre, Ile-Epo, Abule-Egba area of Lagos State following complications resulting from repeated abdominal surgeries.  First, we will like to state emphatically that we will not normally engage in discussions about patients’ clinical conditions on the pages of newspapers as this is against the ethics of best clinical practice. However, this rejoinder is necessary in order to clear the air and prevent misinformation.  Expectedly, we will be circumspect in our response and ensure that the privacy of the innocent boy is protected. Mr Rasaki Musa Gbolahan, the Coordinator of the organisation disclosed during an interview with the Okemagba News correspondent in Epe, on Friday. He said that the cash grants would be disbursed on the 30th of August, at Lagos State University of Education(LASUED), Epe Campus. He added that the beneficiaries would be selected from Epe LG, Eredo LCDA, Ikosi-Ejirin LCDA, Ibeju LG and Lekki LCDA area of Epe Division. She also stated that when she checked through the USSD code, she saw 360. The Anambra student accused of manually inflating her 2023 UTME result by the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board spoke during an interview with Sunrise Daily on Channels Television. JAMB’s spokesman, Fabian Benjamin, had earlier revealed that the candidate sent a series of messages to the board’s automated telecoms system, including the results showing an aggregate of 362. Responding, Mmesoma said the only SMS she sent to JAMB was through its support system: “That’s the only SMS I sent there.” Asked if she got any feedback, she said, “They didn’t reply. If they check their JAMB Support System, they would see that I sent a text message. It was known as Ebute Ileke by the local Yoruba people there.  The natives were originally from Ile Ife and settled down at Ijebu Ode. From Ode they migrated down to Ilara and from Ilara to Epe. Thence, they finally settled at Ileke called Lekki today led by one Lootu son of Labolo, grandson of Oba Alara. Maternally, Lootu was the grandson of Oba Nenuwa/Lenuwa of Ode Omi. Lootu was a great salt panner who engaged in the extraction of edible salt from Brine (Seawater).  Refuge Island in Lagos, known in Yoruba as IDE was a gift given to him (Lootu) by his grandad when he learnt that his daughter had given birth to a male son. Dangote disclosed this after a closed-door session with Tinubu at the Aso Rock Presidential Vila on Friday. “I did not come to do much. I only came to inform the President about our visit with Microsoft co-founder and my friend Bill Gates. It warned that from June 1, 2023, anyone who wants to deal on petroleum products must obtain a licence, stressing that “no licence, no loading of any petroleum product.” The government gave the warning in Abuja through the Nigerian Midstream and Downstream Petroleum Regulatory Authority at a stakeholders’ engagement on gas utilisation in Nigeria. The objective of the  engagement was to enlighten operators on the need to urgently obtain the requisite petroleum storage licence and to engender the transition from white products to gas. “No licence, no loading. He made this known on the latest episode of The Honest Bunch audiovisual podcast co-hosted by him. “Most of the ladies that go to Ebeano to buy stuff do not wear bra”, Nedu noted. Meanwhile, his co-host, actress Ezinne Jane Ugorji argued that ladies should have the decency to wear bras to public places in consideration of others She added, “If you want to be comfortable, be comfortable in your house because other people come there [public places] with their husbands.”
